MY CHEVY COBALT 06 DOESN?T FOOL AROUND MP3?S? UPDATED?

My Chevy Cobalt 06 doesn't play MP3's? Updated? My Chevy Cobalt 06 LT, (not LS like I thought) is supposed to play burned MP3 cds but everytime I try to burn a cd and play them, they don't work! Is there a specific cd or program I need to burn them correctly? Doesn't exactly describe it in the manual much, just that it DOES play MP3s.
