CHEVY IMPALA 02, COMBINED AN AIR MONEY COMING IN AS WELL AS RIGHT AWAY MY ENGINE IS SHRILL THOUGH NOT PROLIFIC DURING ALL. WHY?

chevy impala 02, added an air intake and now my engine is loud but not productive at all. why? before the intake was added i had twice to three times the power i now have. i just don't get it... i can barely get the car to go up a slight hill. it now has half or less power than it did before the install, the iat sensor was never moved, the car can barely make it up a small hill.
